Registered Nurse IV (Quality Management)

The West Texas VA Health Care System (WTXVAHCS), Big Spring, Texas is currently recruiting for the position of Registered Nurse (Quality Nurse Manager), organizationally responsible to the Director.
The Nurse Manager provides direct staff support to top management, service chiefs, and others in planning, designing, integrating, implementing, modifying, and administering a Quality Assessment and Improvement Program.
This program evaluates and improves the quality of patient care and evaluates the appropriateness and timeliness of services provided.
He/she makes decisions that reflect the distinct and contributing role of nursing; is responsible for providing clinical and administrative recommendations relative to the quality assessment and improvement function; and is a key leader in the facility's transition to Continuous Quality Improvement as an approach to assess and improve the quality of health care service.
He/she must be broadly aquainted with clinical treatment modalities and must have knowledge of the organization and administration of multifaceted health care delivery systems; specialty and sub specialty care; educational principles; accreditation standards; epidemiology; evaluation techniques including statistics, research methodology and program evaluation; group processes; and team development.
The Quality Manager, as a member of the top management team, applies clinical expertise and knowledge of health care programs.
He/she monitors the follow-up to recommendations resulting from visits and formulates communication to JC and other external agents regarding these reviews.

Applicants will be reviewed every 10 calendar days .
DESIGNATED DRUG-TESTING POSITION:
Applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
Applicants will not be appointed to the position if a verified positive drug test result is received.
A RECRUITMENT/RELOCATION INCENTIVE MAY BE AUTHORIZED.
Please note:
This is not moving expenses.
If incentive is approved, it comes with a 2 year service agreement and is not paid out until incumbent is employed with facility.


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
