Licensed Vocational Nurse (Mental Health)
The West Texas VA Health Care System is currently accepting applications for the position of Licensed Vocational Nurse for the Mental Health Service.
The Licensed Vocational Nurse serves as a member of the Mental Health Domiciliary Unit, also known as Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program and a background in mental health nursing is preferred.
He/she will be responsible to interact with patients and families, carrying out complex nursing activities for patients with physical and/or behavioral problems.
Demonstrates initiative, clinical competence in Mental Health nursing, self-direction and adherence to work obligations.
Demonstrate effective communication skills and interpersonal relations; observes and documents patients medical conditions; assists with the daily instruction of patients regarding serve-care activities and patient education.
Recognizes medical emergency situations and initiaties appropriate action.
Work Schedule:
This position is full-time permanent to include eight hour shift work, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Salary will be determined by the Nurse Professional Standards Board based on experience and education.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
