Suicide Prevention Coordinator-Social Worker

The incumbent is assigned to the Mental Health Service at The George H.
O'Brien, Jr.
VA Medical Center for The West Texas VA Health Care Service (WTVAHCS), Big Spring, TX.
As the Suicide Prevention Coordinator, the incumbent will assure that all appropriate measures are being taken to prevent suicide in our patient population.
The SPC will serve to facilitate implementation of suicide prevention strategies at a local level.
Activities include support for the identification of Veterans at a high risk; coordinating enhanced care when needed.
and education of providers, veterans, families, and members of the community on risk factors and warning signs for suicide, and treatment options.
The Suicide Prevention Coordinator is administratively organized under the WTVAHCS, Chief of Mental Health Service.
RECRUITMENT/RELOCATION IS AUTHORIZED Work Schedule:
Monday thru Friday, 8:
00am - 4:
30pm, or as defined by supervisor.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
